Tips & Advice

  • 1. Preparing the Surfaces
New surfaces must be clean, dry, free from all defective or poorly adhering material, dirt, grease, wax etc. Treat any area affected by mould, lichens, algae or moss with bleach. Previously painted surfaces should be thoroughly rubbed down using a suitable abrasive paper and then dust off.

After priming new surfaces with Dulux Aquaprime, fill the surface with Dulux Wall Putty. Please refer to PDS of Dulux Wall Putty for correct application procedure and drying time properties. Third coat of Dulux wall putty can be applied for extra smoothness. For best results apply one coat of Dulux Aquaprime again over wall putty and dry overnight.

Repair minor defects in the wall using sand whereas for larger holes and cracks use cement mix. Allow the surface drying time. Prime surface with Dulux Aquaprime and then fill any surface imperfections with the Dulux Wall Putty. Scuff surface using abrasive paper and dust off.
